Court Ordered Community Service Policy and Application

OVERVIEW
Habitat for Humanity of Broward welcomes volunteers who are required to complete court ordered community service hours. In order to assure a positive experience, please read the following policy and complete the Court Ordered Community Service application.
 
NOTE: AFTER COMPLETING THE FOLLOWING STEPS, YOU MUST AWAIT A RESPONSE OF ACCEPTANCE FROM HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF BROWARD

QUALIFICATIONS
• Applicant must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid ID, a parent/guardian must accompany applicant throughout his/her whole shift(s).
• Charges we do not accept:
- Violence (battery, domestic violence, any type of assault)
- Weapon charges
- Any kind of Theft
- Breaking and entering (burglary and/or robbery)
- Felony DUIs
- Lewd behavior or Sexual Offenses
- Larceny
NOTE: If you have a charge that we do not accept, please contact our Director of Volunteer Engagement at volunteer@habitatbroward.org for available alternate volunteer opportunities.
• Applicant must submit the completed Court Ordered Community Service Application to be approved to start volunteer hours.  Applicant will be notified of decision via email within 1 - 2 days from submission..
• Applicant must submit a copy of the court order attached to their application to Volunteer@HabitatBroward.org
 
REQUIREMENTS
• Once approved to complete hours, applicant must register and once registered you can view and sign-up for specific volunteer tasks online by clicking here: ReStore Volunteer Opportunity Calendar. After you sign-up for a date, you’ll receive an email confirmation within an hour with worksite details including address.
NOTE: Applicant is responsible for signing in and out during your volunteer shift at the site and will be required to have a designated Habitat for Humanity of Broward employee initial those hours. Habitat is not responsible for hours not logged or not signed OR keeping track of hours for individuals.

TERMINATION
Habitat for Humanity of Broward reserves the right to terminate agreement for court ordered community service if the participant is in any way unproductive, disruptive, or in any other way negatively impacts the accomplishment of the daily goals.
